Zemer Artist Agreement

Version 2026-10-01

Template — have a qualified attorney review and adapt this agreement before launch.

1. Rights

You confirm that you own or control all rights necessary to distribute and sell each recording, composition, sample, and artwork you upload, or have written permission from every rights holder. You remain the owner of your music; you grant Zemer a non-exclusive license to host, preview, sell, and stream it to purchasers within Zemer.

2. Pricing and revenue

  • Songs sell for $1.00 USD and albums/EPs for $10.00 USD.
  • Zemer retains 10% of the music price (excluding taxes). The remaining 90% (the “artist revenue pool”) is paid to you and any collaborators under your accepted revenue splits.
  • Payment-processing fees charged by the payment provider are deducted proportionally from the artist revenue pool, so the amount you receive is less than 90% of the price.
  • For album purchases, the artist revenue pool is divided equally among the album's tracks, and each track's share follows that track's accepted split.

3. Payments

You must complete payment onboarding with Zemer's payment provider (Stripe), including identity and tax verification, before your music can be sold. Earnings are transferred automatically to your connected account after each confirmed sale and become available according to the provider's settlement schedule. Payouts to your bank are governed by the provider's terms, eligibility, and fees.

4. Refunds and disputes

If a sale is refunded or disputed, the corresponding transfer to you may be reversed. Zemer absorbs the non-refundable processing fee on refunds.

5. Collaborators

Revenue splits require every recipient to hold a Zemer artist account, complete payment onboarding, and accept their share. Split changes apply only to future purchases after all affected recipients accept.

6. Content standards and removal

You publish your releases directly; Zemer does not pre-approve them. Listeners can report content, and Zemer may remove releases, or suspend accounts, for content that infringes rights, violates law, or conflicts with these standards. Removing a release from sale does not, by itself, revoke access for existing purchasers.

7. Term

You may remove releases from sale or close your artist account at any time; existing purchasers retain access to music they bought unless legally required otherwise.
